Redd drops a boxcar on Rockets, snap losing streak, but Pistons are next.

1.23.06 at the Bradley Center

A day after Kobe Bryant dropped 81 on the Raptors, Michael Redd would also make history, as he dropped 66 on the Houston Rockets in a 136-93 blowout at the Bradley Center, making Redd's performance the highest-scoring game in Bucks history. Here's a breakdown of Redd's historic night:
1ST QTR: 6-7 fg, 2-3 3pt fg, 3-4 ft, 17 pts
2ND QTR: 3-4 fg, 1-2 3pt fg, 7-7 ft, 14 pts
3RD QTR: 4-4 fg, 1-1 3pt fg, 7-7 ft, 16 pts
4TH QTR: 6-8 fg, 5-6 3pt fg, 2-2 ft, 19 pts
FINAL: 19-23 FG, 9-12 3PT FG, 19-20 FT, 66 PTS.

Other Bucks shone brightly as well.
Jamaal Magloire had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
T.J. Ford almost had a double-double with 15 points and 8 assists.
And Hugh Fitzpatrick nearly pulled off a triple-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Bucks were 46-85 from the field and 33-39 from the line and were 11-16 from long distance (Houston's stats were 33-85, 5-10 and 22-24, respectively). And the Bucks pounded the glass often, outrebounding Houston 50-37, and they committed fewer fouls (HOU 29, MIL 17).

In all, a great way to end a losing streak, and a historic night for Michael Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks. But on January 25 the Bucks (20-20) will have to face the dangerous Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Could they beat the Pistons like they did on November 26 back in Milwaukee?

Bucks fall under .500 for the first time. By losing to the BOBCATS!

January 21 at the Bradley Center

There was no triple-doubles in the Bobcats' 92-87 win over the Bucks, but there was a triple double-double, thanks to Primoz Brezec, Brevin Knight and Emeka Okafor. That trio helped the Bobcats hand Milwaukee their sixth straight loss and their 9th loss in 11 tries. Plus, the Bucks are under .500 for the first time this season. The 'Cats held Michael Redd in check, holding him to under 20 points and 4 of 19 shooting. But Charlotte could not stop Hugh Fitzpatrick from a big night and Jamaal Magloire from a 15-15 night and a season high for rebounds.

Fitzpatrick has his 1st 20/20 game, but Bucks lost to Atlanta.

1/20/06 at Philips Arena

Joe Johnson scored 41 points including 5 key points in OT as the lowly Atlanta Hawks handed the Bucks their 8th consecutive road loss, 117-108. The Hawks also had big contributions from Al Harrington and Josh Smith, who became the third small forward from a Bucks opponent to grab 14+ rebounds (the others: Josh Howard and James Posey). Michael Redd led the Bucks in scoring, as Milwaukee posted 6 players with double figures in points. Hugh Fitzpatrick had a monster game as he had a career high in rebounds, but a 20/20 night. But three-pointers proved to harm the Bucks on both sides of the ball, as Milwaukee made just 6 of 21 attempts and Atlanta made 11 of their 19 triples. The Bucks are now 19-19 for the season, they have never been below .500 all season, but a loss to the Bobcats tomorrow could put them 1 under .500.

...and in San Antonio

1/18/06 at the AT&T Center

San Antonio 89, Bucks (19-18) 76

After scoring 33 points in the opening quarter, the Bucks went completely flat the rest of the way, as the defending NBA Champion Spurs won 89-76, with Manu Ginobili leading the way with 22 points, 8 assists and 4 assists.

The 2nd quarter was the reason why Milwaukee lost, as they only scored six points in that period, and were 3-for-18 in field goals. They followed that up with a 14 point quarter, as they went 5-for-18 from the field. The Bucks were 30-for-74 (40.5%) from the field overall while the Spurs shot 54.4% (37 of 68), and they were 8-of-14 from long distance.

San Antonio got big contributions from:

Tony Parker, who had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals

Nazr Mohammed, who was 4-4 from the field and 4-4 from the line, he had 12 points and 5 rebounds

and Brent Barry, who was 4-6 from the field, and 2-4 from 3-point range.

Despite the loss, Michael Redd led the team with 21 points, with Jamaal Magloire having a good game with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists while T.J. Ford made up for his 6 point night (2-of-9 shooting) with 4 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals.

Hugh Fitzpatrick was just 3-for-9 from the field, but...

he grabbed 10 rebounds, made 7 assists and blocked 5 shots.

He also forced Tim Duncan to miss his first 6 shots (he went 4-13 from the field), held him to 9 rebounds and he only had 8 points.

And despite the 6 2nd quarter points and 14 in the 3rd, the Bucks outrebounded San Antonio 41-40 and had 10 steals, compared to the Spurs' 5.

But the Bucks come up empty tonight. Up next: they visit Philips Arena on 1/20 to take on the Hawks, then they host the Bobcats the next night.

The Bucks, now 19-18, have now lost 7 straight road games.

Bucks lose in Big D....

January 16 at the American Airlines Center

Mavericks 111, Bucks 101

The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Bucks 111-101 thanks to a 29-19 4th quarter and near-perfect long distance accuracy as they went 9-for-11 from 3-point range. The Mavs jumped out to a 27-18 lead early but the Bucks would even the score at 82 going into the 4th, but the final quarter proved to be too much for Milwaukee.

Bucks have another big win against a quality opponent.

January 14 at the Bradley Center

Bucks 101, Nuggets 91

The Bucks picked up a quality win as they beat the Northwest frontrunners, the Denver Nuggets 101-91, in a action-packed game.

for the Denver Nuggets:

Carmelo Anthony had a solid game tonight with 24 points (8-16 FG, 7-10 FT) and 7 rebounds, but he committed 5 turnovers.

Andre Miller flirted with a double-double with 17 points and 9 assists, but his stats were marred by his 4-10 FG performance.

Backup power forward Reggie Evans had 6 points and 9 rebounds while Kenyon Martin had 8 points and 8 rebounds, but Evans fouled out while Martin had 4 fouls.

The Nuggets were held to just 40% (30-for-75), and only attempted 4 3-pointers, making 2 of them.

for the Milwaukee Bucks:

Michael Redd was the top man again, as he led all scorers with 33 points. He was 10-26 from the field, 3-7 from deep but 10-11 from the line.

Hugh Fitzpatrick had a good game with 14 points and 8 rebounds, despite 5-11 FG, 4-7 FG and 5 turnovers.

T.J. Ford almost had a double-double with 13 points and 8 assists, but he had 3 steals, along with Bobby Simmons.

Jamaal Magloire had just 8 points, but was the game's leading rebounder with 12 rebounds.

The Bucks' bench outscored Denver's 26-21, as Jiri Welsch's season high 11 points and Dan Gadzuric tallied 8 points in the victory.

Milwaukee was 38-80 from the field (47.5%) and was 6-13 from the field, but they were 19-30 from the charity stripe while Denver was 29-38.

Two interesting stats:

The Bucks won the game despite being soundly beaten on the glass, 50-39.

This game was brutal and sloppy as both teams committed 56 fouls (MIL 25, DEN 31) and 30 turnovers (MIL 14, DEN 16).

The Bucks return to the road all this week as they travel to Dallas (1/16), San Antonio (1/18) and Atlanta (1/20) before they host the Bobcats on January 21.

Quick recaps of three more games

January 10 at Bradley Center

Bucks 108, Timberwolves 107 (in overtime)

Hugh Fitzpatrick hit the game-winning buzzer-beater from a dazzler from T.J. Ford to give Milwaukee the overtime victory. Fitzpatrick was brilliant all-around, with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. Ford almost had a triple-double, but still had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Bobby Simmons also flirted with a double-double with 18 points and 8 rebounds while Jamaal Magloire did record a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. Michael Redd, as usual, led Milwaukee with 28 points. Kevin Garnett had a big night with 19 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks, Ricky Davis added 18 points and Rashad McCants chipped in with 16 off the bench.

January 11 at Conseco Fieldhouse

Pacers 108, Bucks 97

Stephen Jackson led the Pacers to victory with 25 points and Jamaal Tinsley had 15 points and 11 assists while Jermaine O'Neal had 21 points and 7 boards. Michael Redd had a big game with a game high 37 points and Hugh Fitzpatrick had 8 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Even though Indiana led all game long, the Bucks were 10-for-19 from 3-point land.

January 13 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena

Bobcats 103, Bucks 101

Despite 3 players scoring at least 20 points, the Bucks fell to the Bobcats tonight as Gerald Wallace and Primoz Brezec had 18 points each. Hugh Fitzpatrick had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Bobby Simmons also had 23 points and Michael Redd added 21 points. T.J. Ford had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists and Jamaal Magloire grabbed 13 rebounds. The Bobcats won despite being outrebounded by Milwaukee 46-39.

The Bucks return home to the Bradley Center on January 14 when they take on the Denver Nuggets. Milwaukee is now 18-15 with 49 games left in the season.

Fitzpatrick scores a career high. But LeBron does it again.

January 7 at Quicken Loans Arena.

Cavaliers 119, Bucks 96.

After scoring a career high 60 points in their last meeting, LeBron James torched the Bucks for 50 points as Cleveland trounced Milwaukee tonight. James almost had a triple-double, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out 8 assists as he dominated the Bucks again. Zydrunas Ilgauskas had a double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks, Larry Hughes had 13/5/5 and Damon Jones had 11 points off the bench. The Cavaliers did a great job on the Bucks' leading scorer, Michael Redd, holding him to just fifteen points, but rookie forward Hugh Fitzpatrick made up for Redd's lack of scoring with a career high 35 points, along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. T.J. Ford would have a 12/4/5 night in a losing effort. The Cavaliers made 56.1% of their shots, and outrebounded the Bucks 44 to 31.

Bucks hold Bulls to 70 points, win.

1/6/06 at the Bradley Center

Bucks 84, Chicago 70

Well, after giving up 60 points to LeBron James last game against the Cavaliers, the Bucks shut down the ENTIRE Chicago Bulls team, and it resulted to a 84-70 win.

The Bulls jumped out to an early 27-20 lead, as Luol Deng scored 10 points in the first quarter, but the Bucks rallied back to lead at half, 50-47. But in the second half, the Bulls were lost in time...like they were playing in the 1930s. The Bucks held Chicago to just 23 points in the 2nd half, and the Bucks ran away with this one, even though they only scored 34 points in the second half.

Despite both teams sending the NBA back 65 years with a boring second half, the Bucks had some stellar performance from their players.

Michael Redd only scored 18 points, but grabbed eight rebounds, while Hugh Fitzpatrick, despite scoring 11 points, had a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds. He also handed out 4 assists. But the big surprise in tonight's game was backup center Dan Gadzuric, who did an outstanding job while Jamaal Magloire was in foul trouble. Danny G had 16 points and 8 rebounds tonight, his best performance of the season.

Despite Luol Deng being the game's leading scorer with 19 points, the Bulls played like they were playing basketball on ice, making less than 33% of their field goals, being outrebounded 50-40 and outassisted, 20-10.

Well, the good news: the Bucks played much better, allowing just a season low 70 points to a decent team. The bad news is that they must face LeBron James again as the Bucks and Cavaliers fight it out at Quicken Loans Arena January 7.

Bucks are 17-13 this season...

LeBron drops a career high SIXTY on the Bucks!

January 4 at the Bradley Center

Cavaliers 112, Bucks 110

LeBron James scored a career high 60 points, including the game-winning basket with no time left to give the Cavs a 112-110 win over the Bucks. LeBron was 24-for-30 from the field and 11-for-12 from the line as he set a personal best for scoring, a Cavaliers record for most points scored and the 2nd most points allowed by an Bucks' opponent (Utah's Karl Malone on 1/27/90 with 61.) LBJ's 60 overshadowed another brilliant performance by Milwaukee's Michael Redd, who scored 41 points in the game and Hugh Fitzpatrick's 23 point, 11 rebound effort tonight. The Cavaliers would lead at the half 59-46, but costly fouls kept the Bucks right back in the game. The Bucks had a chance to win the game when Drew Gooden stole the ball from Fitzpatrick, who gave it to LeBron for the easy basket to give him 60 points, and to win it for Cleveland. Besides LeBron's offensive fireworks, the Cavaliers had other standout performances: Anderson Varejao had 8 points and 7 rebounds, Flip Murray had 10 points and hardly used guard Ira Newble (who came in due to foul trouble for Larry Hughes and Damon Jones) hauled down 7 rebounds. The other bright spot for Milwaukee was guard T.J. Ford, who had 12 points and 8 assists.

After letting King James rule the night with a career high 60 points, the Bucks look to regroup are prepare for the Chicago Bulls on January 6th at the Bradley Center.

Chicago Hopeless

January 2 at the United Center
Bulls 98,Bucks 82

Looked like the Bucks had too much partying last night, as the Bulls won by sixteen tonight. Chicago guard Kirk Hinrich led the stampede with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists while Luol Deng had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Michael Sweetney had 17 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. Michael Redd led all scorers with 28 points while Hugh Fitzpatrick had another big night with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. The downfall for Milwaukee was in the first half, where they scored just 35 points, and only made 33% of their shots. The Bucks ended up shooting just 35.2% from the field, and the their bench was an atrocious 5-for-21 shooting. After that horrible performance, the Bucks at least outrebounded Chicago 52 to 51, but on January 4 they have another huge home game as LeBron James and the Cavaliers come to the Bradley Center.

Bucks end 2005 with a win over Knicks

Michael Redd had another 30+ game, scoring 38 points as the Bucks beat the Knicks 106-95 at the Bradley Center tonight. Redd made 7 three-pointers in the game and tallied 15 points in the 4th quarter to propel the Bucks to the win. Three Milwaukee players had double-doubles tonight: Hugh Fitzpatrick (15 points, 10 rebounds), Bobby Simmons (12 points, 12 rebounds) and Jamaal Magloire (10 points, 15 rebounds). Mo Williams (11 points, 7 assists) and Dan Gadzuric (10 points, 5 rebounds) provided big help as key role players in today's win. Stephon Marbury led New York with 25 points while Eddy Curry had 10 points and 12 rebounds. The Bucks outrebounded the Knicks 54-42, and Milwaukee was tenacious on the offensive boards, with a 25-11 advantage. The Bucks begin 2006 on January 2 in Chicago, taking on the Bulls at the United Center.
